The Vanderbilt Undergraduate Summer Research Program (VUSRP) offers undergraduate students the opportunity to engage in 10 weeks of full-time research during the summer. Students work closely with a faculty mentor on a research project in their chosen field of study. The program is designed to provide students with hands-on research experience, develop their academic skills, and prepare them for future careers or graduate studies. Participants receive a stipend to support their work during the summer.
Applications for Summer 2026 will open in November 2025.
VUSRP is a 10-week program that allows students to work closely with any full-time Vanderbilt faculty member.
The main component of the program is the scholarly work done by the Vanderbilt undergraduate student (VUSRP student) in collaboration with their faculty mentor.

Who can apply
- Undergraduate Status: Open to current Vanderbilt University undergraduates who are in good academic standing.
- Faculty Mentor: Applicants must identify a faculty mentor who agrees to supervise their research project during the summer.
- Commitment: Students must commit to full-time research for the duration of the 10-week program.
