The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Princeton University provides eligible ECE majors (sophomores and juniors) competitive funding for on-campus summer internships. Internships are offered for research projects working under the guidance of an ECE faculty member or a closely related Princeton faculty member (such as COS or MAE). Internships span 7-9 weeks over the summer and are paid through a weekly stipend covering the cost of on-campus room and board. These internships are directly supported by the Johnson '64 Slingshot Fund and the Michael Reed Summer Research Gift. Roughly 15 projects/participants were supported in the previous year.
Who can apply
- Undergraduate Status: Open to Princeton undergraduate sophomores and juniors majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
- Interest in Electrical and Computer Engineering Research: Applicants should have a strong interest in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related fields.
- Academic Achievement: A competitive GPA is required, particularly in relevant coursework such as electrical engineering, computer science, or applied mathematics.
- Application Materials: Applicants are generally required to submit a resume or CV, a personal statement outlining their research interests and career goals, unofficial transcripts, and letters of recommendation from faculty members.
