The University of Virginia's Summer Research Internship Program (SRIP) offers undergraduate students the opportunity to engage in biomedical research under the guidance of UVA faculty members. The program is designed to provide hands-on research experience, enhance laboratory skills, and foster a deeper understanding of the scientific process. Participants will work on a research project, attend seminars and workshops, and present their findings at the end of the program.
2026 dates: May 24 – July 31, 2026
Who can apply
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student.
- Must have completed at least two years of college coursework by the start of the program.
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in biomedical research or a related field.
- Students from underrepresented groups in biomedical sciences, economically disadvantaged backgrounds, or those who have overcome significant educational, social, or economic barriers are encouraged to apply.
