The Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internship (SULI) program at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science's premier undergraduate education and research program. It provides hands-on research experience in world-class laboratory facilities under the guidance of scientific and technical staff serving as mentors on DOE projects. Interns contribute to NREL's research in approximately 50 scientific areas supporting an affordable, abundant, and reliable energy future.
Who can apply
- Currently enrolled full-time undergraduate students at accredited 4-year or community college institutions, or recent graduates within 2 years of bachelor's or associate's degree
- Completed at least one year of undergraduate coursework
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Available for full term (fall: ~Aug-Dec, spring: ~Jan-May, summer: ~Jun-Aug)
- 18 years or older
