The Berkeley Lab Undergraduate Research (BLUR) program is designed for undergraduates, post-baccalaureates, and graduate students who have already established collaborations with scientists, engineers, or STEM professionals at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL). Participants engage in hands-on research projects aligned with Berkeley Lab's core research areas, working alongside mentors, technicians, and professionals.
Who can apply
- Undergraduate students from 2- or 4-year institutions, post-baccalaureates (within 2 years of graduation), and graduate students with established collaborations with LBNL staff
- Must be 18 years or older at internship start
- U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident at time of application
- Minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 for courses in last 5 years
- Cannot take classes during the internship; fall/spring terms for post-bac or students on semester hiatus
