The Hilldale Undergraduate Research Fellowship at UW-Madison supports undergraduate students conducting independent research in collaboration with a faculty mentor. The fellowship is open to students across all disciplines and provides a stipend to support research activities. The program is designed to foster in-depth research experiences, enhance academic development, and prepare students for graduate study. Fellows work closely with their faculty mentors to design and implement research projects, gaining valuable skills in their chosen field of study.
Who can apply
- Have at least junior standing at the time of application
- Plan a collaborative research project with a UW–Madison faculty/staff
- Plan to graduate after May of the application year
- While there is no minimum GPA to apply for the Hilldale, projects proposed by students with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or lower typically are not as competitive.
- Must be in good academic and disciplinary standing to apply
