The WPI Transfer Academic Merit Scholarship is designed to recognize and support outstanding transfer students who have demonstrated academic excellence in their previous college coursework. This scholarship is awarded to students transferring to WPI who have shown strong academic performance and a commitment to their education. The scholarship helps make a WPI education more accessible to high-achieving transfer students by providing financial assistance.
All admitted transfer candidates are automatically evaluated for a WPI Presidential Scholarship specifically for transfers based on college level academic performance, as well as professional and learning pursuits, leadership experiences, and extracurricular involvements. This scholarship varies in amounts, is renewable for up to four years, and can be combined with any applicable specialty merit scholarships.
The application deadlines for the WPI Transfer Academic Merit Scholarship align with the transfer application deadlines at Worcester Polytechnic Institute:
Spring Entry: November 15
Fall Entry: May 15
Transfer applicants must submit their completed applications by these deadlines to be automatically considered for the scholarship.
Who can apply
- Academic Excellence: Applicants must have a strong academic record from their previous institution, typically reflected in a high GPA.
- Enrollment: Must be a transfer student enrolling full-time at WPI.
- Application Process: All applicants for transfer admission to WPI are automatically considered for this scholarship based on their admissions application; no separate scholarship application is required.
