Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of Oxford

The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of Oxford provides scholarships for talented African students facing financial barriers to accessing higher education, as part of the broader AfOx Graduate Scholars Program. It funds a rigorous one-year taught Master's course at Oxford, aimed at equipping Scholars with technical, entrepreneurial and leadership skills. A distinctive "Ubuntu period of service" follows completion of the Master's, during which Scholars design and deliver impactful projects with African organisations. The programme emphasises historically under-represented groups, including female scholars, people from refugee/displaced backgrounds, and scholars with accessibility needs.
