The Gifted Athlete Support Programme (GASP) at the University of Chichester is designed to assist students in balancing their academic studies with high-level sports participation. Support Services:
- Students receive guidance from professionals in various fields, including sport coaching, exercise physiology, biomechanics, strength and conditioning, performance analysis, sport nutrition, sport psychology, and sport therapy or physiotherapy.
- The program provides financial assistance, with the level of support determined by the athlete's achievements in their sport.
- Athletes have access to the Fitness Suite at the Tudor Hale Centre for Sport.
- Support is available through SU Sport to help manage the demands of being a student-athlete.
- Participants receive branded athletic gear as part of the program
Who can apply
- Candidates should demonstrate regional, national, or international standards in their sport or provide strong evidence of outstanding potential.
- Applicants must meet the standard entry requirements for their chosen course at the University of Chichester.
- Athletes are expected to actively participate in university sports and represent the institution in British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) competitions.
