The George W. Jenkins Scholarship is a prestigious award established by Publix Super Markets Charities to honor the legacy of Publix founder George W. Jenkins. It is offered at several institutions, each with specific eligibility criteria and benefits.
The scholarship covers full cost of attendance for eight semesters (or ten for five-year programs), including tuition and fees, on-campus housing, meal plan, University health insurance, and a laptop allowance. Additional stipends for books, transportation, and personal expenses may be provided.
Application Process:
- School counselors must nominate students by November 10.
- Nominated students must submit an additional essay by December 1.
- Submit the CSS Profile and relevant tax information by November 15.
- FAFSA should be submitted as soon as possible, but no later than January 6.
Who can apply
- U.S. citizens who are residents of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, or Virginia.
- Graduating from an accredited high school within their home state.
- Minimum unweighted GPA of 3.75 on a 4.0 scale.
- Demonstrated financial need.
- History of overcoming significant adversity.
