The Deutschlandstipendium is a national scholarship program initiated by the German government to support high-achieving and committed students at German universities. At Leipzig University, the scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance, social engagement, and personal achievements, including overcoming challenging personal or family circumstances. The scholarship provides recipients with a monthly stipend of €300, jointly funded by the federal government and private sponsors. This funding is not available for doctorates.
Who can apply
- Applicants must have demonstrated exceptional academic achievements or show the potential for outstanding performance in their studies or profession.
- Consideration is given to applicants with a record of social commitment, willingness to assume responsibility, or special social, family, or personal circumstances.
- Applicants must be enrolled or intending to enroll at Leipzig University (existing and new students may apply).
- Students receiving other talent- and performance-based financial support amounting to €30 or more per month during the funding period are not eligible for the Deutschlandstipendium.
- Not available for doctoral students.
