The PURE (Program for Undergraduate Research Experience) program funds University of Calgary undergraduate students to gain research experience by working closely with faculty members on research projects lasting 8, 12, or 16 weeks during spring and summer. It aims to help students develop research skills, explore their research interests, and understand the impact of research on knowledge and society. A single application covers 15+ awards; award values are $3,750 (8-week), $5,625 (12-week), or $7,500 (16-week). The supervisor deadline is 30 January 2026.
Who can apply
- Must be a full-time, continuing undergraduate student at the University of Calgary in good academic standing, from any faculty.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
- Must return for the following fall semester; students graduating or completing their degree in June are not eligible.
- International students may apply with a valid Study Permit.
