The Pacific Northwest National Laboratory Science Internship Program, officially the Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships (SULI) program hosted at PNNL, provides undergraduate students with immersive research experiences in STEM fields or science policy. Participants work alongside PNNL scientists and engineers on projects advancing U.S. Department of Energy missions, gaining hands-on technical training in state-of-the-art facilities. The program spans 10-week summer terms or 16-week semester terms, offering competitive stipends, housing allowances, and travel reimbursements to eligible interns.
Who can apply
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident at time of application
- At least 18 years old at internship start
- Currently enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student (sophomore, junior, or senior) at an accredited college/university, or recent graduate (degree within 2 years of start)
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Completed at least 6 credit hours in science, mathematics, engineering, or technology course areas
- Completed at least 12 credit hours toward a degree (high school diploma or GED required)
- Limited to maximum two SULI internships and four applications total
